Wherever I touch down I try to take my crew to out of the way places to eat and have fun. Lots of good times spent exploring international cuisines.

I have compiled a collection of great places to eat and consolidated it into my website “Left Seat Eats.”

Go ahead. Give some of them a try. And email me your thoughts.

    Keeping fit on the go

When you sit in the cockpit 6-8 hours a day, then head to a hotel in a strange city, then go out to eat...then get up at 6:30 a.m to make your next flight, it's tough to keep in shape. Over the years, I have come up with the following "10 Rules of the Road" to stay in shape on the go.

Rule # 1. Watch those carbs

Rule # 2. Get up and move around

Rule # 3. Walk at least 10 minutes a day

Rule # 4. Use those stairs

Rule # 5. Do some isometrics

Rule # 6. Limit alcohol (the FAA is pretty strict with us. No alcohol within xx hours of flying)

    Rule # 7. Keep a log

    Rule # 8. Workout with a friend

Rule # 9. Establish a routine and stick with it.

    Ruyle #10. Keep on smiling
